I know i’ve been super M.I.A but child works been crazy lol
I’ve been promising and putting off this blog post for awhile. I was waiting until I could find products that actually did what it said on the tin and genuinely helped my skin. Everyone has insecurities when it comes to their skin, however we’ve all become very good at masking this with make-up, lighting, camera angles and please forgive me…filters. So i thought I would bare all for you guys today, so here it goes…
So if you’re anything like me and can’t leave a spot alone, then you’ll know my struggle. I have small scarring across my face that seems to fade only with time and exfoliation. I use Lush’s Dark Angels about 3 times a week to get a proper exfoliation so my skin can breath throughout the week, especially if you are a person who wears quite heavy make-up throughout the week.
If you are a person who eats right, cleans their make-brushes and removes their make-up before they go to bed and still struggles with acne, my one bit of advice would be to seek help from your GP. During school a lot of my friends suffered from sever acne and was put on the pill called ‘Microgynon’. Through experience of my friends taking this pill they found that it can make you very emotional as well as constantly breaking out. Not fun.
It has worked for some
I have heard really great reviews about the ‘Yasmin’ pill, known as the beauty pill. A lot of positive reviews on this product so if you are interested I will leave a link below.
I was recently given the Mario Badescu drying lotion from my brother (hehe) I’ve heard sooooo many amazing things about this product, so when he whipped it out his pocket i did let out a little scream lol. The two toned liquid has a blend of Calamine and Salicylic Acid, which soothes unsightly whiteheads overnight without irritating the surrounding skin.
Whats even more great about this product, it is suitable for all skin types, even those with more sensitive skin types. The drying lotion provides immediate relief from break outs and blemishes. Which makes it a small bottle of magic everyone should have in their skin care routine
This could be something that I imagine is very unique to me, I have small indents across my face from having chicken pox as a teenager (the pain wah). You can get similar indentations from serious acne scarring, which results in uneven skin surface.
After doing some research, I found a technique called ‘dermarolling’ (needing the skin to prompt skin regrowth). I haven’t personally tried it myself at it does seem quite strange to get a rolling pin and roll it across my face eh!
I’ve been recommended the ‘Derma Pen’ treatment which is more professional procedure with equipment that helps even out the skin.
My skin honestly has a mind of its own, one day it’ll be calm and they next day my skin is peeling. What I have found during the transition out of winter to spring, my skin gets extremely dry around my forehead, cheeks and nose. Ive used various exfoliting facial washes and none of them has helped get the dead layer of skin of my face.
I tried the GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate treatment! And Guys! for me it removed all the dry skin in one go. This mask helps reduce fine lines, smoothes, refining and helps gives your skin that youthful glow that we all need. It retails for £39 and I know it is rather pricy so what is even more great, GlamGlow provide tester sizes for £14 to see if the product works for your skin before you fork out them pounds.
Here’s a few tips to summarise
1. If you are suffering with severe acne, consult your GP about a monthly pill.
2.Exfoliate your skin regularly, give or take 3 days out of the week
3.Remove make up properly every night before bed. A make up wipe can only take your skin so far. I personally use a make up wipe to get off the worst of it, then I use a facial wash to really get in to my pores, toner and then moisturising.
4.A lot of people ask me whats the key to having clear skin. WATER. I cannot stress the importance and the positive affects water has on the skin. So go overboard with that h2o!
5.Chemial peels often help as they remove the top layer of skin, eliminating a lot of scarring and pigmentation.
I really hope these tips are useful
