I surely underestimated how hard getting a blog post up every day while working 37.5 hours a week was going to be. Living in London is so crazy, shopping for Christmas presents this year has been extremely unorganised. I even bought a planner so I could plan everyone’s presents but I’m pretty sure it’s somewhere covered in dust eek! But most importantly my Christmas food shop (Who is excited for the food, I am 😬). However! Let’s catch up on the week…
SAYING THAT – I love December! 🎄🎅🏽 It’s the time of the year when I can finally find the time to spend with close friends and loved ones and not worry about projects I’ve left possibly. What I love to do during this period, I like to take some time out maybe a week off from Christmas to New Year’s Eve. Taking time off is so crucial for your well-being! I think it’s great for us to find ourselves before we face the new challenges and the new adventures that 2017 has for us.
& I extremely love December because I have an excuse to put decorations all over the house and light candles to make my nights super cosy.
WHAT IVE BEEN LOVING THIS WEEK
If you missed my last post about my Christmas playlist, I’ll link it below. All week on the way to work/home, I’ve been constantly bombarding myself and my family with infamous Christmas songs muhaha. – And I am loving the Christmas season, like I’m so obsessed with the run-up to Christmas there is nothing better then putting your tree up, learning new recipes for Christmas treats, present shopping… Especially Oxford Circus and Westfield’s, fighting the other customers for that last discounted Burberry perfume meh!.
A FEW TIPS & TRICKS TO SURVIVE THE XMAS RUSH
Plan Plan Plan!
– Christmas shopping can be very stressful. Especially if it is done at the very last minute. Be kind to yourself my lovelies and plan in advance. Shop as much as you can online, not only you will avoid the unnecessary London queues , but you also be able to find better deals and compare prices across retailers . Also check out the gift guide I prepared on my previous blog post
Complete work quickly and efficiently!
– Being a freelancer myself, you cannot simply take a few weeks off without worrying about the stage of your business. In times when I feel like I have no time spare time to blog or my work on my other projects . With the right preparation for yourself, you will be able to enjoy all of the festive activities & mulled wine without being bombarded by your emails.
Have a lazy day
– I love lazy days. Just before all the Christmas craziness kicks into full gear, I allow myself to get enough sleep and to do absolutely nothing for a day or two (I promise I’m not lazy). I like to spend less time out and about, just staying at home watching Christmas movies, wrapped up in my blanket and just chilling to be honest. Nothing wrong with a one man Netflix and chill! I believe there’s nothing better than that to help you get into the Christmas spirit 🌟
Say Bye Bye To Technology!
– Spending some time without your phone/laptop/computer can do wonders for your state of mind.
In general people spend less time in front of their computer screens during the Christmas season and you should get the most out of this period. If you’re running a business/blog or you are a freelancer, you probably won’t get as much traffic or income during this period and that is something to remember. Use these days to re-evaluate what your dreams and goals are; and plans to get you to that dream of yours . Taking some time off is the best thing you can do for yourself and your business. You will get back super relaxed and ready to take on the world.
