Hi my loves! I hope everyone is well this sunny Sunday afternoon.
I thought today I would share with you my favourite lipsticks this summer, some drugstore and a few a little high end.
So if you want to know what I have been loving this summer keep on reading…
Now I am a big Kardashian/Jenner fan (no one hate me lol), so when Kylie brought out her liquid lipsticks I HAD TO HAVE ONE. In all honesty, this wasn’t the original colour that I wanted but I luckily snagged this one.
As it is a liquid lipstick, it does dry matte but it doesn’t dry your lip out. For all the ladies out there who are 50/50 on liquid lipsticks, I urge you to try one as it changed my life. The colour is a orange/red tone which was perfect for this summer, the only negative I would have to add about this product is – at first application the formula is very wet, so you do have to wait awhile for it to completely dry & secondly YOU CAN NOT REAPPLY OVER THE FIRST LAYER (meh) yes ladies you have to wipe the whole lip off and then reapply another first coat, 8/10 on the annoying scale.
These retail at $29, it includes a pencil and liquid lipstick which is very good and worth the price tag
This delicate rose lipstick was perfect for this summer, it was an easy everyday colour, topped with some clear lip-gloss you couldn’t go wrong. This is a custom matte velvet lipstick, which are very pigmented and creamy when applying.
So if you’re a bit like me and you’re a little apprehensive of trying a pink lipstick, this is a great one to start with. Super inexpensive and great value for money.
Retailing for £6.99 in your local Boots or Superdrug stores
THIS COLOUR IS THE BOMB.COM!! Mac describes this beauty as an “intense reddish orange” which it truly is.
My big sister introduced me to this colour, as I would never in a million years pick up such a vibrant lipstick. But this colour compliments brown tones so beautifully that I’m just so obsessed with it.
Mac So Chaud is a matte finishing lipstick, when applying the lipstick it feels very creamy and glides on smoothly. As it is a matte finishing lipstick, it can begin to dry in the fine lines of the lips, so to avoid any dry areas being accentuated, I use a lip scrub from Lush, topped with some Carmex after; this will remove the dry skin from your lips making them soft and smooth, ready for application.
I need to confess that I had never heard of NYX cosmetics until it arrived in London, say about a month ago. I know guys it is quite shocking but I have now seen the light. Praise Him.
Neither a lipstick nor a lip gloss this matte lip cream is in its own league. Out of all the matte liquid lipsticks I have tried I cannot recommend this brand enough to you guys. Abu Dhabi is a warm peach tone which works beautifully with a brown lip liner underneath. However, if you’re thinking “Jamiylah peach isn’t really my colour”, THERE IS OVER 30+ SHADES for the picking! So happy hunting ladies! This lip cream is durable and unlike other formulas, very moisturizing.
These little gems retail for only £5.50! Yup that isn’t a typo lol £5.50
You can find these online and in Boot stores in your local areas
This lipstick will always hold a special place in my heart as it is the first MAC lipstick I purchased, this delicious muted neutral pink oozes summer vibes. Different to Eva’s Delicate rose, this cremesheen finish makes your lips look plump and moisturised throughout the day. To give this shade just a little more umph, I used the MAC lip pencil in Chestnut as a base colour.
Retailing for £15.50 in any of your local MAC stores
Blake pure ruby red, designed to suit warm skin tones, it is a matte finish lipstick with a hydrating texture. This colour looks beautiful on everyone, L’Oreal have truly perfected the right formula of a matte lipstick and for such a great price, there is no surprise that my draw is full with different colours.
This retails at £6.99, found at your local Superdrug and Boots, it’s a great drugstore stable piece.
